Miss Wendy brought in a giant sunflower! |
We used different methods to extract and collect the seeds. We strengthened our pincher grasps by pinching the tiny seeds. This will help us develop the muscles we use for writing. |
We were amazed at how many seeds we collected! |
We also did some Practical Life activities! See our blog on Practical Life if you're unfamiliar with this portion of Montessori programming.
We strung letter beads on a string. Some of us made our names or other words. |
We practiced tonging. This took a lot of concentration as the marbles were slippery because of their round shape! |
We practiced transferring materials by spooning them from one dish to another. |
We're getting pretty good! |
How relaxing! |
We built structures with various sizes of blocks. We followed diagrams and also created structures of our own. We practiced team work and learned about balance.
We did various sensorial activities. We learned about the layers of the human body starting with the skeleton.
At lunch, we discovered that if we plug our noses we can't taste anything! We discussed the five senses and the ways in which they are connected.
What a busy and fun week!
