Our New School Year!

Welcome back! This month, to start off our brand-new school year, the Casa students are going to work diligently with practical life skills. We will be refining our skills for everyday living and working on getting comfortable the classroom rules and procedures. Throughout the month of September, students will be focusing on social graces and courtesy – greeting friends by shaking hands, giving friends their own space and learning to get along with others. We would ask that you bring in one family picture of your child as soon as possible, so that it may be placed on our Family Tree (Pictures to come! Our class worked very hard on creating it!).

Please remember:
Parents, please choose 5 art supplies to help replenish our supply so that we may continue to create fun and unique art to bring home!
Some ideas:
We are always in need of paint, paper,  jars, buttons and pipe cleaners. You can also get creative! Your donation can include “throw away” things from home including paper towel rolls, old buttons, fabric or bottles.
We continue to focus on being an eco-friendly school, through reducing our waste, recycling and reusing materials. We would greatly appreciate any donations of reusable items or recyclables.

Recipe of the month: Goop!
To make goop, simply combine the following: 1 tbs water with 1 tbs wood glue 1 tbs borax with 1 tbs water and a few drops of food colouring. Mix both together, stir and begin your fun!

To ensure your child has everything they need:
Please remember to bring the following: •    2 extra sets of clothing to keep on hand (seasonal) •    Wipes, diapers (if needed) •    Indoor and outdoor footwear  • Sunscreen •    NO TOYS PLEASE!

Your Casa team is ready to make this year a fun, informative year. As always, our focus is on making this academic year a success! Our safe, collaborative learning environment is set up to ensure each child receives a tailored, quality education. Our focus remains on language, math, and practical life. Our goal is for each child to reach their full potential, academically, emotionally, and socially. We encourage natural learning through exploration, hands on activities and guided activities. Please let us know if there is anything in particular that you would like us to work on with your child!
Miss Bryer will be teaching French. This month we will be focusing on introductory, conversational French. Miss Andrea will be leading the after school program. This month, our focus will be on collaborative activities and teamwork! We will be learning about working together and helping one another. We will also be making “green” art using recycled materials.

Thank you for your continued support and interest in your child’s education. This investment in your child’s academic career is not one that we take lightly. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns!
