Apple printing and scavenger hunts!

We had a very busy week! As usual, we worked on practical life activities that allowed us to practice our fine motor skills, using concentration and hand eye coordination. We also took part in some seasonal art and used apples to do some beautiful artwork! We sliced the apples and used them as stamps. We also took part in a Halloween scavenger hunt as we searched our classroom for webs and spiders hidden by the teachers. We learned about keeping track of numbers through tally marks and tally charts. What a fun way to integrate math into our day!
We practiced spooning and sorting.

We strung beads onto strings to create beautiful patterns.

We carved patterns into the apples to make our stamps more interesting.

We added to our fall art from earlier.

We have begun our self- served snack. This is a fabulous way to serve snack as it integrates math (i.e. count 4 apples, pour half of a glass of juice), practical life skills (spooning, pouring etc.) and encourages patience and taking turns.
We practiced printing and filled in the blank.
