March Madness :)

This month at Montessori Interactive Preschool we are going to be very busy learning about our beautiful country of Canada! The children will be busy in all rooms with Canadian themes, food and folk music. Ms. Wendy and Miss Lisa are very busy organizing an amazing March break program that focuses on Canada, as well as exciting activities throughout the month to allow the children to experience Canada at it's finest! It is going to be a very exciting and fun filled month in all classrooms at our school.

Upcoming Events:

March Camp will be offered from March 11th to the 15th, please let your child's teacher know if you will not be attending during the week. Our events are as follows:

Monday- The Great Canadian North
Tuesday- Folk Day
Wednesday- A day in the life of a Newfie ( Ms. Jennifer will be all ready for a jigg this day!!! )
Thursday- Camping Day
Friday- Canadian Sports Day

Our Easter party will be here at the school on March 28th from 9:30am to 11am. If you would like to send treats with your child, please allow at least 30 treats to cover the children. :) 

March 28th will also be Ms. Jennifer's last day, she is moving back to Newfoundland to expand her family the first week of April, we wish her all the best in her future endeavors! She will be missed!!

School Closings: March 29 (Good Friday) and April 1 (Easter Monday) 

Happy Valentines Day

We are getting ready once again here at Montessori to celebrate Valentine's Day :) Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Wendy and Ms. Lisa have been working hard organizing our shelves to show the wonderful colors of pink, red and white throughout the classroom. Our children are so excited to make Valentines Day arts to share with their family and friends.

Our Valentine's Day party will be on Thursday, February 14 at 9:30 AM. We encourage children to bring in their Valentine's for their friends, and if parents would like to they can also send along a peanut free treat to school with your child to share during our party :)

I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome our 2 new families that have started with us this month! We love having your children part of our Montessori Family and we look forward to their adventure with us. :)

Also a quick reminder to parents, please continue to send snow pants and warm clothing with your child as the weather is still quite unpredictable. Please note as well that our school will be closed on Family Day, Feb. 18, classes will resume on the 19th. Hope you all enjoy your Family Day Holiday!

Christmas Concert

After the children were done preforming Santa stopped by to drop off some early Christmas presents.

Thank you to all of the parents, friends and families that came out to our annual Christmas concert last Wednesday! The children did an amazing job preforming their mini play, as well as singing some beautiful Christmas songs for you. They have worked so hard over the past few weeks, and all of their hard work paid off. The visit from Santa was the icing on the cake, all of the children loved their wonderful presents. A huge thank you to photographer Nicole Homick for taking pictures of each child with Santa!! We appreciate your continued support to our school.  We had a huge turn out, our CASA classroom was filled with love and support from all of our families, it was such a wonderful evening, it was so nice to have all of the infants participate too. :)

The Christmas break is fast approaching, just a reminder to all parents that Dec 21 will be a half day only, until 1pm. We will begin our Christmas camp on Dec 24, please see your child's teacher for details on the camp, and activities that are planned each day. Thank you once again to all of our parents, you are such a wonderful group of people, and you are truly considered part of our Montessori Interactive family!

Santa Clause Parade

Wow!! What a great turn out at the Amherstburg Santa Clause Parade!! We would like to thank everyone who came out and helped us hand out free hot chocolate to everyone. We received a lot of gratitude and thanks, it was nice to know that we were helping to keep everyone nice and warm! We look forward to doing it all over again next year! :)

Remembering Megan Cote

We love you Miss Meg!

We would like to ask everyone to take a moment to honour a wonderful educator, co-worker, and friend. Megan Cote was an amazing person and contributed to our school in so many ways. We know even today she influences the staff at our school. She would be so proud of the toddlers she taught who are now excelling in their kindergarten classes.

For those who did not have the pleasure of meeting Miss Megan she was a caring and energetic teacher. Even though she passed away two years ago we often find ourselves thinking of her beautiful smile.

We know you are looking over our school and helping guide our children. We love and miss you Miss Meg. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to your family.
